SURPLUS
On systems of excess
Surplus exposes the destructive contradictions of our global food culture: beauty and violence, excess and scarcity. In ten large-format photographs, alternating between stillness and explosion, eatable material becomes the weapon and warning. Caught between hunger, climate crisis, and war, the series asks:
What are we eating - and what is eating us?
The series was previously exibited under the title Food-Terror. The title was changed to Surplus to more precisely address systemic excess and imbalance, rather than framing food through the language of fear or intent.
